I know, I know….it seems like we’re always shouting about awards we’ve been shortlisted for. But this particular award feels rather special so I hope you’ll indulge us one more time.
On October 20, the No Brainer team is heading to our nation’s capital city after we we made the final ten for the Micro Business of the Year title at the British Small Business Awards.
We’re up against some pretty stiff competition for the award, but win or lose, just to be shortlisted is incredible recognition for us, especially when you consider that any business in the UK with between two and nine employees was eligible.
The ceremony itself is at the Grand Connaught Rooms, close to Covent Garden.
Before that, we’re up against two other North West companies for the Business Start Up title at the Cheshire Business Awards. The winner of that one will be announced on October 7 at a ceremony inside Chester Cathedral.
And in November we’re up for Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations North West Pride Awards.
National award recognition
We’re pretty chuffed to be on any final list but to be recognised nationally is really quite a big deal. Even Ben Lobel, the editor of SmallBusiness.co.uk which runs the awards, said it’s a significant group to be in.
He said: “This is a critically important category representing, in terms of business size, the bulk of our readership at SmallBusiness.co.uk. The companies shortlisted have all demonstrated impressive revenues and an approach to their sector that sets them apart from their peers.”
No Brainer co-founder Lee Cullen said: “Over the last year we’ve enjoyed award recognition both locally and regionally. But to be in the running for a British Small Business Awards title really puts us on the national stage.

“Some of the other companies on the shortlist are really well established so to be included shows how much we’ve grown in such a short space of time.”
The British Small Business Awards is the leading celebration of the UK’s small business sector, recognising the nation’s best sole traders, micro businesses and small companies – as well as the services providers and advisers that support them.
